The Broad Market Prospect of Special Polyacrylamide for Oil Recovery
As
a kind of non-renewable energy, petroleum has very limited underground
reserves. Under the current water flooding conditions, oil recovery is only
35%-45%, which means most of the crude oil remains underground after water
flooding. How to maximize the recovery of remaining crude oil underground has
become an important task of the petroleum industry. The development and application of EOR technology is of great practical
significance for the implementation of the strategy of China's petroleum
industry.
In the process of petroleum exploitation,
by injecting polyacrylamide aqueous solution, the oil-water velocity ratio is
improved, and the crude oil content in the extract is increased. At present,
the application of Polyacrylamide in oil fields abroad is not much. Because of
the special geological conditions, polymer flooding technology has been widely
used in Daqing and Shengli oilfields.
At present, most oilfields in China have
entered the late stage of secondary oil recovery, and the comprehensive oil
recovery rate is only 30%. Therefore, tertiary oil recovery through technical
means has become one of the main measures to stabilize oil production. Daqing
Oilfield and Shengli Oilfield, as the main tertiary oil production in China,
have increased year by year, accounting for 25% and 12.4% of their crude oil
production in 2009 respectively.
In petroleum exploitation, polyacrylamide
is mainly used for drilling mud materials and improving oil recovery. It is
widely used in drilling, completion, cementing, fracturing, enhanced oil
recovery and other oilfield production operations. It has the functions of
increasing viscosity, reducing filtration loss, rheological regulation,
gelation, diversion, profile adjustment and so on.
By injecting polyacrylamide aqueous

method to improve oil recovery in the future. With the increase of tertiary oil
recovery demand, the market demand of polyacrylamide will be very strong, and
the market prospect of special PAM for oil recovery will be broad.
