How to Improve the Use Efficiency of Polyacrylamide in Winter?
The
temperature in winter is getting lower day by day. In the cold winter, the use
of polyacrylamide (PAM) will encounter various problems. These problems affect
the use effect to a certain extent and perplex the majority of customers. So
how to get out of this dilemma?
1. Decreasing temperature affects the
dissolution rate and molecular chain extension of PAM. At room temperature, the
dissolution of PAM powder takes about 45 minutes. When the temperature is high
in summer, the dissolution rate will be accelerated and the dissolution time
will be shortened accordingly. In winter, the temperature is low, the
dissolution rate is slow, and the dissolution time will increase. It is
suggested that when we use PAM in winter, we increase the dissolution time of
PAM at the same concentration, so that PAM powder can be completely dissolved
and molecular chains can be fully extended.
2. It is suggested to use groundwater to
dissolve PAM powder in water with relatively high temperature. Because the
temperature of groundwater is relatively high in winter, the dissolution rate
of PAM can be increased and the dissolution of PAM can be more complete.
3. At low temperature in winter, the
activity of suspended particles in wastewater decreases relatively, which has
an effect on the adsorption capacity of PAM. In this case, the reaction
distance between PAM and wastewater can be extended and the reaction time can
be increased, which can also make the full reaction between PAM and wastewater
and achieve better results.
