Does Polyacrylamide and Polyaluminium Chloride Mix Work Well?
Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a water-soluble polymer
with high efficiency for wastewater treatment. It can be divided into anionic
polyacrylamide, cationic polyacrylamide, non-ionic polyacrylamide, and
amphoteric polyacrylamide according to ionic type.
Polyaluminium
chloride (PAC) is a kind of inorganic macromolecule coagulant. It is an
inorganic macromolecule water treatment agent with high molecular weight and
high charge, which worked due to the bridging effect of hydroxide ions and the
polymerization of polyvalent anions. Morphologically,
it can be divided into solid and liquid. Solids can be divided into brown,
beige, golden and white according to their different colors. Polyaluminium
chloride of different colors has great differences in application and
production technology.
Polyaluminium
chloride is also a water purifier. In some industries with low requirements and
a single water quality component, the treatment effect can also meet the
discharge requirements. Polyacrylamide has a very superior effect in the
treatment of wastewater. It can achieve a very ideal effect when used alone,
but it is not omnipotent. In many cases, it is better to use together with
inorganic coagulant. When polyacrylamide is used together with polyaluminium
chloride, we must pay attention to several points:
1. Polyacrylamide and polyaluminium chloride
cannot be dissolved in one dissolving tank;
2. The type of polyacrylamide used in
combination with polyaluminium chloride was determined by experiments;
3. The sequence of polyacrylamide and
polyaluminium chloride was determined by repeated experiments;
4. the dosage of polyacrylamide and
polyaluminium chloride should be determined by experiments;
5. Control the reaction time of wastewater with
two chemicals.
