Application of Polyacrylamide in Gold Mine Wastewater Treatment
Gold is a rare metal and the content of gold in
ores is very low. To extract and collect gold, the ore is usually broken,
ground and enriched by appropriate methods to separate gold from ores. At
present, gravity separation and flotation are generally used to extract gold.
No matter which method is used to extract gold, a large amount of water is
needed. The mineral processing industry uses large amount of water, and the
composition of wastewater is complex. Most
wastewater is acidic, full of suspended matter, heavy metal and a large amount
of cyanide. It's very difficult to deal with them. According to the
characteristics of wastewater, neutralization and flocculation method is
generally used to treat wastewater.
Since
the wastewater is acidic, it is relatively difficult to treat. It is better to
add quicklime to the wastewater to neutralize the acid in the wastewater, so
that the PH value can reach about 7. This wastewater treatment is relatively
easy and the effect is good. Then, adding polyacrylamide to flocculate, the
suspended substances in wastewater can form larger flocs through the adsorption
and bridging of polyacrylamide, which can accelerate the sedimentation and
remove suspended substances, heavy metals and harmful substances.
